TRANSLATION:
Because of the tendencies of
immemorial times,
The sense of duality persists
again and again
In the hearts of those who are
ignorant and bereft
of the compassion of the Supreme Sivam
And all is not seen as Brahmam
Even if they constantly
study the Upanishad-s
And are instructed that all is Brahmam.
Rare one! Therefore, all seekers after liberation should seek
The compassion of the
undivided Supreme Sivam.
COMMENTARY:
This is an important verse.
Sri Gurudev is constantly reiterating the truth to you, 'You are That'. You are, also,
repeatedly reading and practising the teachings of Vedanta. Even then, the duality alone is experienced by you. It does not vanish for those who cannot evoke the compassion of the Lord! (As you do not surrender your mind to Him, His compassion is not aroused.) The conclusion is: It is not possible to achieve the state, 'Everything is One; We are That' without the grace of the Lord and the compassion of That which must join together! The Lord and Sri Sadguru are one!
YOU ARE EVERYTHING!
