TRANSLATION:
As there is no strain in uttering
the sound of these words:
We are Brahmam; Brahmam is We,
All those who are not competent
(in such meditation as this),
Should, until the mind settles in the conviction of one's own nature;
And direct Knowledge arises unmistakably,
Say aloud the sounds that affirm the changeless nature;
Of the undivided Self of all being Brahmam
And that Brahmam being ourself;
And We being that Brahmam.
(akam Brahmam jagam Brahmam enra)
COMMENTARY:
No need to be weighed down by worry that one has to keep uttering orally: 'We are
everything; We are That and That We are'.
Until one reaches such a stage when the mind is brought under control, freed from body-world (unreal things) consciousness and is fully established in Self, spiritual seekers should adhere to the practice of repeating verbally the truth: 'We are everything; We are That; That We are!' and endeavour to obtain the experience of the Self.
By such an act of Dharma, also called Divine grace, the constantly oscillating, restless mind will become still. Till then, seekers should utter repeatedly and sincerely the above mentioned Undivided certitude.
YOU ARE EVERYTHING!
