TRANSLITERATION:
ninakayal pôl tônriya inta nâma rûpam
nikilamumê nîyalatu vêrê yanru
tamakkayal pôl kanaviluNar nâma rûpam
tâmalatu côtikkin vêrê uNTÔ?
emakayal pôl kâNpatellâm yâmê enrum
yâmtânê êkapara Brahmam enrum
(un) manakkavalai yâvaiyumê tîrumaT Tum
maravamal eppôtum nitityâcippây.
TRANSLATION:
This world of name and form, which appears as if apart from you,
Is all only yourself and nothing else.
If inquired into, are the names and
forms in a dream,
Which are felt as different from oneself, anything else?
Whatever appears as if apart from Us is ourself,
And We are, indeed, the one Supreme Brahmam.
Focus on such meditation without fail,
Until all the anxieties of the mind are allayed.
COMMENTARY:
The names and forms of the world, which seem to be separate from you, are not really
apart from you!
The names and forms of the waking and dream states, which appear to be separate from you, are not apart from you! Names and forms appear, exist and disappear, but you (Seer), who see them, are present at all times, in the present, past and future. Understanding this fact clearly, persevere in the practice, 'We are That', until all your mental modifications vanish.
