Verse: 50

TRANSLITERATION:

kâlamutal karpanaiyê ilâmaiyâlê
kâNkinra kâTci mutal iruppatengkê?
tûlamutal kâttiramê ilâmaiyâlê
toTarkinra bavabantam iruppatengkê?
mûlamatâm aññânam ilâmaiyâlê
muLaikkinra atan ceykai iruppatengkê?
âlayamâm para Brahmam anaittum enrum
atutânê akamenru anucantippây

TRANSLATION:

As time and concept do not exist,
Upon what exists all the panorama
that is seen?
As nothing of gross form exists,
Where exists the consequential bondage
of worldly existence?
As the original nescience never exists,
Where arise all its effects?
Be immersed in the inquiry of how the
abode of all is the Supreme Brahmam*,
And That, indeed, are We*.

COMMENTARY:

Time and imagination do not exist; hence, there is no existence of names and forms.
The body, caused on account of one’s Karma, made of flesh and containing faeces, does
not exist; hence, there is no cycle of birth and death, no bondage and liberation.

Ignorance, which is the cause of suffering, does not exist; hence, there is no existence of pangs of birth and death!

Contemplate thus: ‘Everything is One; That is beneficent; That is bliss; We are That and
That We are!’.

                    YOU ARE EVERYTHING!
